blog Insider Tip #3: Getting There
After you plan your Bumbershoot itinerary, you should map out how you’re going to arrive at the Festival. First choice: walk or bike! There is free bike parking located on 5th & Thomas, between EMP|SFM and the Space Needle. Remember to bring your own bike lock.
Biking not your thing? Seattle Center is centrally located, with multiple bus routes serving the area. Use the Metro Trip Planner to find one that works for you, and remember to plan your return trip, too—buses will run on a holiday (reduced) schedule on Sunday and Monday (Labor Day).
If hopping on a bus or bike isn’t an option, King County Metroâs website can help you find rides with other Bumbershooters in your area. Simply register on their website for Bumbershoot. Itâs a fun and convenient way to share the expense of driving and help eliminate traffic congestion and pollution, and you just might a new concert buddy in the process!
If you end up sharing a ride, check our website for tips on parking, and consider donating $2 toward a “carbon offset from NetGreen.
Now that you know how to get there, we’ll see you at Bumbershoot!
