blog Win the Food for Thought Contest and Score Bumbershoot Platinum Passes!
Foodie or not, you know what you like and writing about it can win you Platinum Passes to this yearâs Festival. We want to hear all about one of your most memorable experiences with food. How easy is that?! Write a short essay (500 words or less) about the subject of FOOD and YOU. Serve up your story by August 2, and you could be savoring the reward!
Heralded chefs and writers, Kathleen Flinn and Tom Douglas, will be picking the tastiest essay and reading it on stage during their Bumbershoot program “F is for Food.“ The lucky winner will also have their essay published in The Seattle Times for all to read. And of course, the winner and a guest will receive Bumbershoot Platinum Passes, where they will be treated like a VIP!

The grossest thing i’ve ever eaten was a scorpion. My friend lived in china for a few months and he brought me back this chinese mystery liquer with dead scorpions in it that were almost pickeled from the vile drink. There were about 20 or so scorpions in the bottle and it tasted like gasoline and urine soaked in vinegar and had a little crunch to it. The aftertaste lingered in my mouth for a very long time even after brushing my teeth. I didn’t vomit though, and for that i am proud.
