news Win Gold Passes to Bumbershoot 2010!
WOW! BumberFans are a hardy bunch of music and arts fans, and we thank them all for braving Seattle’s fickle weather to spend Bumbershoot weekend with us! Sometimes sunny, sometimes wet, but always chocked full of memories in the making, it was definitely the best way we know to end our summer vacation.
And even though Bumbershoot just wrapped, we’re already thinking about how we’re going to top ourselves next year. Do you know 2010 will be our 40th festival? Help us make it the best ever! Take our Bumbershoot Survey by September 27, and as a thank you, we’ll enter your name into a drawing for a pair of Gold Passes to Bumbershoot 2010. See the complete rules for details.
Thanks for the feedback, and see you in 2010!

The only thing I can really say is, there are great bands that are put on in the Ex Hall, and that room sounds HORRIBLE no matter who it is…PLEASE Bumbershoot, quit using the Ex Hall for anything. Maybe put a tent somewhere for those bands, or just use the perfect sounding Sky Church…that room always sounds amazing!

I went Sunday and it was great! The only thing is I wish the yeah yeah yeahs would have been the headline band for the evening show there would have been lots of energy if it was Spearhead and then yeah yeah yeahs!!I also loved the famous mysterious actor he was awesome !!

I loved the KEXP secret stage!
I hate the mainstage. It blows. It’s too bad bands have to play there instead of playing multiple shows in venues like the sky church or even the Fisher Green stage. I know, it’s not possible but a girl can dream.

First time at Bumbershoot, and I have to commend the staff and volunteers on a very well ran event. I was expecting mass chaos, and each venue was organized and easy to access. Definitely will be back next year.
Also, the talent line up left something for everyone, and really opened you up to new and interesting artistic experiences.
Thank you Bumbershoot for a great weekend.

I really enjoyed every show that I went to in the Sky Church it always sounds great .
Franz Ferdinand was amazing! The part where they all starting jamming on the drums was incredible, and the like 10 minute ‘dance party’ was awesome.
keep the good bands coming.
Thank you bumbershoot!

I went all three days and couldn’t believe how crazy Franz Ferdinand got in the pit! The music was awesome too, but I made it out alive…
I thought Michael Franti was so much fun, especially when Jason came out at the end and people were getting pulled up on the stage. I think the Yeah Yeah Yeahs would have been cool to headline as well, Karen O is crazy and I love it!
As always, Natalie Portman’s Shaved Head rocked it. Can’t wait til they make it to the mainstage! :)
Thanks AGAIN Bumbershoot for the highlight of my summer!!

Another Portland Oregon band became the best band hardly anybody went to see: Suburban Anthem play good old fashioned punk rock with an infectious energy and charmed those of us who did make their Exhibition Hall set by pulling an enthusiastic teenager out of the audience to make him the fifth member of the band whether he liked it or not. (He did.)

did the survey and already said this there BUT the security at the exibition hall seems a lot bit overzealous (every year) to take down people who start to mosh during bands where that kind of thing is expected.
Aside from that all three days were great and the starbucks vip lounge was by far the best freebie :)

Bumbershoot was bomb this year! Despite the rain, black eyed peas were amazing, same with Franz ferdanan and modest mouse!

Went all three days and loved it. The only real criticism I have is it would be nice if the changes in line-ups were better communicated to the volunteers and employees- we asked about a comedy switch while in line for a comedy pass and the volunteers didn’t know anything about it. We waited (in the rain) for 40 minutes before we got to the front and spoke with someone who had the answers we needed. Aside from that it was a great time. See you next year!

I went all three days, and it was the AMAZING! This is my first time attending Bumbershoot. I will never forget it. The only complaint I have is not being able to see all the shows, but I’m grateful that some of them are repeated all three days. I’m still bummed about Modest Mouse and Metric being on the same time, but either choice was a win win situation. I can’t wait until next year. This is definitely something I want to attend again.

WOW! Bumbershoot was amazing! I use to go with my mom when I was a little kid, but now being almost 18 and adventuring out on my own, it was amazing! I went Sunday, and even though it was poring down rain, it still was the best day ever, being front and center for Michael Franti and Jason Mraz, I couldn’t ask for anything BETTER! I loved Michael Franti and I loved how Jason Mraz came out and joined in on Michaelâs song “Say Hey”! I will be back Next year for sure! The crowd surfing was insane during the Michael Franti and Jason mrazâs show; I got hit in the face with someoneâs foot but it was worth it! I also loved talking to the security guards near the stage; they kept me entertained while we all waited for the show to start! Thanks BUMBERSHOOT for an amazing time! =D

Brett Dennen stole the show! The mainstage does blow! Cool stuff in the bazaar but the prices were hilariously hyperbolic!!!

I flew all the way up from Orlando to catch my first Bumbershoot, what a great time…I hope you caught Dehli to Dublin—they were outrageous.

it was amazing, i went monday. i wish that franz ferdinand would have gone after modest mouse because i was so excited to get an amazing show after franz because they were SO GOOD, and i was somewhat disappointed by one of my favorite bands, modest mouse. i understand it’s kindof hard to jump around with all of the instruments they had but i wish they just would have put on a better show. neverrr the less, they were both great. black eyed peas impressed me. and Champagne Champagne was absolutely amazing. :)
