Saba Mohajerjasbi made his standup debut at the “Celebrity Open Mic” during the first annual Week of Fun Comedy Festival in January 2007. It wasn’t very good. Saba doesn’t care though, and apparently, neither does the regional comedy booker for Bumbershoot. What the hell is this guy doing here anyway? He’s not a comedian, he’s a DJ! BOO!

Calling all performers in the Seattle area! This is your chance to be a part of the famous Bumbershoot Music & Arts Festival. “Bumbershoot’s Got Talent” is a variety show that is looking for everyone who has a 3-minute act ready to be seen by industry professionals and our panel of celebrity judges. Music, juggling, tumbling, sword swallowing, magic and anything you can do in 3 minutes – we want to see it!
Compete to be crowned “Bumbershoot’s Most Talented Without Exception!”
To apply, please send a short description of your act, including number of performers and any instrumentation to programming (at) onereel.org. Write “Bumbershoot’s Got Talent” in the subject line. All acts selected to audition will receive further information via email.
Deadline to submit is Monday, August 27. Auditions will be held in Seattle on Friday, August 31. If selected, you must be able to perform 3pm – 4pm all days of the Festival (Saturday, September 1 through Monday, September 3.)

2007 Mayor’s Arts Awards Ceremony and
Bumbershoot Visual Arts Opening
Noon, Friday, August 31
Northwest Court at Seattle Center
Mayor Greg Nickels will honor the 2007 recipients at an awards ceremony at noon on Friday, August 31 at Seattle Center’s Northwest Court. The outdoor ceremony will feature award presentations, followed by the official opening of Bumbershoot’s Visual Arts Exhibits, which is free and open to the public from noon to 6 p.m. that same day. For more information about the ceremony and this year’s recipients, visit the Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs website.
The Mayor’s Arts Awards are presented by the Mayor’s Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs in partnership with Bumbershoot and primary media sponsor Encore Media Group, the magazine proudly serving performing arts organizations throughout the Puget Sound. Know an individual or organization making a difference in Seattle's communities through arts and culture? Nominate them (pdf) for a 2007 Mayor's Arts Award. Mayor Greg Nickels will present the awards at a ceremony, Friday, Aug. 31 at Seattle Center in partnership with Bumbershoot!
