05.16.2009 Extra Golden: NPR's All Thing Considered
NPR’s All Things Considered episode featuring Extra Golden aired in January, 2008.
When I play my iPod I usually just enjoy listening the artist’s music, but Extra Golden is extra special. Their talent as musicians aside, their strength as people is inspiring. After listening to this episode of All Things Considered on NPR, their music has taken on an unequaled depth of purpose considering their political and economic background. Since their debut album Extra Golden have released Hera Ma Nono and their latest album Thank You Very Quickly. Even President Obama has heard of them; as a Senator he helped the band acquire visas needed to enter and perform in the United States.

06.16.2008 Download: "Time Without You" by Dale Watson
With bass vocals, slide guitar and fiddles, this song is honky-tonk-tastic. Dale Watson plays classic country music that’s at the very top of its game. A true original, Dale’s even coined his own genre: Ameripolitan (as he defines it on Wikipedia: original music with ‘prominent’ roots influence.) Note: This song may precipitate the purchase of boots.
