What more could I possibly say about Neko Case, beyond the fact that sheâs simply amazing? Her distinctive country-noir sound is as strong as ever on this swaying track, punctuated by a guitar solo thatâs simultaneously twangy and ethereal. This is definitely an excellent track for a summer taking a turn down towards the overcast.

The first profile in this series, and the very inspiration for the series itself, is the stunning “honorary Canadian,” Neko Case. The red-haired maiden has been enchanting audiences for years, and itâs about time she got some official recognition for being Awesome.

04.08.2008 Beck, STP, Lucinda Set For Bumbershoot
Beck, Stone Temple Pilots, Lucinda Williams and Neko Case are among the first acts confirmed for the 2008 Bumbershoot Music & Arts Festival, Billboard.com can reveal. The event will be held Aug. 30-Sept. 1 at Seattle’s City Center.
