One of the coolest things about working Bumbershoot was actually being on the grounds of Seattle Center the entire week preceding the Festival, watching everything get built and come together, while helping a little bit (a really little bit). This meant I got to step outside of my role as a spindly blogger and start to toughen up and help people move boxes and build things. Obviously this was quite a departure for me.

08.21.2008 Bumbershoot's Production Department: Seriously Hardcore
Here at Bumbershoot, weâre in high gear preparing for the Festival. Itâs a bustling hive of activity as we cross our tâs to put on one of the biggest music and arts festivals around. And one of the busiest teams around is made of Bumbershootâs industrious production department. I was recently able to sit in on one of their meetings, and dear holiness they are some busy folks. Their meeting agenda alone was longer than one of Battlesâ guitar solos. These people are no joke.
