Assemblage, a national arts collective, wants your Bumbershoot stories and memories for Way Stations, a unique audio walking tour made especially for Bumbershoot. Way Stations is combining fan emails, voice messages and hours of personal interviews to create an audio experience that evokes the lives of strangers who share public and private spaces.

Art is everywhere… Seattle has amazing art museums, galleries and is even home to a beautiful sculpture park. But we don’t stop there. Art appears on the side of buildings… covering cars… even the doodle you did on your notepad the other day is your take on artistic expression (some of your finest work, by the way). True to the city, Bumbershoot abounds with art both in classic gallery settings as well as unique site-specific installations and spontaneous artistic expressions.

Foreign countries can be scary places. They have languages that I donât know how to speak, their writing can use letters that all look like the pound sign to me (#), and sometimes they eat things like lutefisk or alligator or enchiritos. But Iâll be damned if some countries donât keep putting out awesome bands, one after the other. And this yearâs Bumbershoot has some of the best bands the world has to offer. Lucky for you, my dear reader, you have me to guide you through the international milieu and help you discover these superb foreign artists.
